General Information & Safety Precautions
Welcome to ZooCamp 2023! Camp activities include a t-shirt, a tour of the zoo, a chance to meet zoo staff and animal keepers, fun crafts, awesome activities and up-close animal encounters!
Campers must be signed up for the camp that reflects their age as of the first day of the camp they wish to attend. Children MUST have completed kindergarten by June 2023 to participate in these camps.
The Akron Zoo continually monitors the situation regarding COVID-19. We are excited to offer camp this summer in person. Our main goal is to keep your children safe.
Group size will be capped at 22 campers.
Activities and Supplies
Group activities will be modified to ensure the safety of campers. Each camper will receive his or her own supply kit. Shared supplies will be limited to only those that can be easily disinfected.
Campers and camp staff will NOT be required to wear a mask inside. Due to the fluctuating nature of COVID variants this may be subject to change.
Before Camp Care
Before care will only be available upon sign up from 8am to 9am for full day camps ONLY. We will not be providing After Care at this time.
Drop off/pickup will be carpool style from your vehicle. No parents will be coming into the building.
Food and Snacks
All campers are encouraged to bring their own reusable water bottle and snack, should they need them during the day. For full-day camps, campers are also required to bring a packed lunch with them. We will NOT be offering meal deals through the zoo café.
For questions about ZooCamp (registration, COVID-19 precautions, tax information, topics/content, etc.), please contact us at ZooCamp@akronzoo.org.
