Akron Zoo’s Spring Break Camp!

For Children 6 to 12 year olds. 
Join us for Akron Zoo’s Spring Break Camp! A week-long camp program while your kids are out of school for Spring Break! Enjoy crafts, games and other educational fun activities as well as animal experience(s), animal encounters and tour the zoo while forming connections to the natural world.
Our theme is: Spring Break Around the World Zoo-cation Camp: Pack your (imaginary) passport and get ready for an unforgettable Spring Break! Campers will embark on a week-long Zoo Vacation (Zoo-cation) — no flights required — as they explore the world’s wildlife and cultures right here at the zoo. Throughout the week, campers will discover amazing animals and their habitats, check out different world regions and learn about the people and places that make each one unique. Daily activities include zoo tours, up-close animal encounters, themed crafts and hands-on fun that builds a deeper connection to our animals. Let your spring break vacation adventure begin!

On-Site Camps
Camp activities include a t-shirt, a tour of the zoo, a chance to meet zoo staff and animal keepers, fun crafts, awesome activities and up close Animal Encounters!
Click the link of the camp you'd like to register your child for. If registering for multiple camps, a separate registration must be made for each camper. Please select the number of campers who will be attending the same camp. You will need to complete two separate registrations for each. Data does not carry-over between registrations. Once completed, both registrations can be added to your shopping cart.
Akron Zoo member discounts will appear once you are logged in. Please make sure to log in to secure your member-only pricing.
Campers may be signed up for the camp that reflects their age as of the first day of the camp they wish to attend. Children MUST have completed kindergarten by June 2026 to participate in these camps.
All ZooCamps are Full Day camps.

All Five-Day camps run 9am – 4pm. Campers are encouraged to bring their own reusable water bottle and snack should they need it during the day. Campers are required to bring a packed lunch with them. We will NOT be offering Meal Deals through the Zoo Café. Before Care ONLY is available 8am to 9am. Drop off/pickup will be carpool style from your vehicle. No parents will be coming into the building.

Wonders of the Water:
June 8 – 12 and July 13 – 17, 9am - 4pm
Every living thing needs water to survive, from the shy and mysterious creatures hiding right here around us to the dark unknowns of the watery deep, scientists are always learning and discovering new things! Join us as we explore the secrets of the waters! Dive right into this exciting adventure at the Akron ZooCamp!
Art at the Akron Zoo
June 15 - 19 and July 20 – 24, 9am - 4pm
Animals create art in many forms. From Busy Builders and Dirty Diggers, animals make art building their homes! Other animals use Surprising Stripes or Clever Camouflage and hide in plain sight. Join us as we investigate the ways animals use natural designs to succeed in survival and make beautiful art while they do! We will do some designing of our own in this art & craft focused week!
Growing Up Wild
June 22 – 26 and July 27 – 31, 9am - 4pm
Imagine going from newborn to adult in a year, a few months, or less than a month! Imagine being independent from birth or staying a baby until conditions are right to become an adult! Imagine having 200 brothers and sisters! In this camp, we will learn all about the crazy variety that can be found among baby animals and why growing up in the animal kingdom is a wild and wonderful thing!

It’s not just the T. Rex that is extinct; we have lost species even in our lifetimes. But does gone really mean gone? Join us as we learn about what zoos do to help protect the animals we love! In this camp, we will learn all about the science behind preventing extinction, helping species survive and about species thought to be gone, but might just be hiding.
