Guest Services

Are you looking for a fun, rewarding job? The Akron Zoo has positions available within the Guest Services Department. Seasonal employees receive discounts, flexible schedules and the chance to make a real-world difference. Team members earn $12.00 an hour.

Food Service

Team members will be trained either in the back-of-house (efficiently prepare, cook and serve food in a healthy, clean kitchen environment) or the front-of-house (operate a cash register, serve guests in a timely and friendly manner, maintain a clean and inviting frontline and dining room for our guests). Team members may also be responsible for preparing and overseeing catering events that occur in various outdoor and indoor locations throughout the zoo.

Gift Shop

Team members operate the cash register as well as provide great customer service to our guests. During downtime, staff will be trained on stocking the sales floor, merchandising, and housekeeping. Staff may be scheduled inside the gift shop or at our outside locations. Our outside location does not have air conditioning nor heat. Previous sales experience a plus, but not required.

Guest Experiences

Team members will staff Ticket Counter and operate our ride attractions, including the Conservation Carousel, A&K Wilbur / Considine Express (trackless trains), Immotion Virtual Reality and selling crackers to feed our goats at the Boma. Providing a great experience is expected in all locations and include tasks like accurately scanning tickets, selling general admission and special event tickets, selling membership and redeeming membership certificates, or operating rides safely and efficiently.

*Driving the A&K Wilbur and/or Considine Express requires a valid driver’s license.
