Back by popular demand, dinosaurs are returning to the Akron Zoo this summer. DinoTrek will run May 2 – Sept. 8.

There will be 30 life-sized animatronic dinosaurs, an increase from 20 dinosaurs in 2025. This year will feature a total of 23 different species, including returning fan-favorites, such as the Tyrannosaurus rex and Velociraptor, as well as many new species, like the Iguanodon and Ceratosaurus. The majority of the dinosaurs will move and make noise.

Also returning will be the popular show, Dino Up-Close. This show brings back performances including characters, baby dinosaurs, Ducky and Morris, and T-Rex, Caesar. Plus, a new dino character will make its debut.

DinoTrek is included with general admission and free for Akron Zoo members. The dinosaurs will be incorporated throughout the entire zoo, rather than in one location. DinoTrek is presented by Huntington Bank.
