The Akron Zoo had its second-highest attendance ever in 2025 with 415,403 visitors throughout the year. The zoo’s current highest attendance record was set in 2017 at 416,942.

The zoo also set a new record in 2025 for highest general admission day on May 11, with 7,332 guests visiting on one day.

The Akron Zoo welcomed 20 life-size, animatronic dinosaurs for the first time in 2025. DinoTrek, presented by Huntington Bank, ran May 10 – Sept. 14 and the zoo saw a 10.8% increase in attendance over the same period in 2024.

“Thank you to all who visited the Akron Zoo in 2025,” said Doug Piekarz, president & CEO at the Akron Zoo. “After our attendance slowed during the pandemic, it’s encouraging to see our annual visitors rebound. That is thanks to the support of our amazing community. Looking to the future, I am excited for all that 2026 has in store for the Akron Zoo.”
