Due to continued poor air quality, the Akron Zoo will remain closed to the public on Friday, July 17.
Zoo Camp is not impacted, and has been moved indoors.
Air quality is anticipated to improve this evening, and the zoo intends to reopen to the public on Saturday.
Due to poor air quality conditions, the Akron Zoo will close to the public at 1 p.m. today. Anyone who purchased a General Admission ticket for the day should contact the zoo directly for a refund.
Zoo Camp has not been impacted by the public closure, and all campers have been moved indoors.
The safety of all zoo employees, visitors and animals remains our top priority. The zoo will be closed for the rest of the day. Any updates about the zoo’s hours for Friday, July 17, will be shared.
