Akron Zoo Launches "Reaching New Heights" Capital Campaign
The Akron Zoo is excited to officially launch its most ambitious capital campaign ever - Reaching New Heights. With a goal of $11 million, this campaign is already three-quarters of the way to success, thanks to the incredible generosity of early supporters.
The campaign is focused on enhancing animal care, expanding exhibits and strengthening the zoo's role in education and conservation. One major project already underway is a new, state-of-the-art animal hospital, made possible in part by this fundraising effort. The Tom and Shelley Koutnik Animal Hospital will ensure the continued health and well-being of the zoo's animal residents.
Looking ahead, the zoo's next major expansion will take you on a journey presented by Lehner Family Foundation that will lead you to a Giraffe Conservation Center, bringing giraffes to the Akron Zoo for the very first time! This exciting addition will deepen the zoo's conservation impact while creating unforgettable experiences for guests of all ages.
For more than 70 years, the Akron Zoo has been a place where families connect with wildlife and nature. Through Reaching New Heights, the zoo is investing in its future - and the future of conservation.
