Ticket Troubleshooting FAQs

I am an Akron Zoo member. Why am I being charged for tickets?
1. First, make sure you’re logged in to your online account. We do have a new online system and all guests, including Akron Zoo members, will need to create a new account if you have not done so already after March 1, 2019. After creating an account, make sure you are logged in. Purchasing a membership does not automatically create an account.

2. Make sure you’re selecting Member Adult and Member Child tickets. Member discounts will not apply to regular Adult and Child tickets.

3. Akron Zoo member discounts will appear once tickets have been added to your cart.  Please make sure to log in and then continue to check-out to view your discount.
I am an Akron Zoo member and I’m logged in to my online account. I’m still being charged for tickets.
Please call the zoo at 330-375-2550 to verify that your membership is linked correctly to your online account. If you’ve moved recently, or you used different contact info than what is on your membership, this may be the case.
I don’t know what my password is for my online account. How do I reset it?
You can reset your password by clicking “forget password” and entering your email. You’ll then receive an email to reset your password. (Make sure to also check your spam folder.) The Akron Zoo is not able to reset passwords for security purposes.
I don’t remember what email I used for my online account, or my email is not working. What should I do?
Please call the zoo at 330-375-2550 and we can verify what email address is being used for your account. We can also edit your email in case of errors.
I don’t have my membership ID. How do I set-up my online account?
You do not need your member ID number. When you create your online account, make sure to use the same contact info that is on your membership. The system will automatically apply your membership to your account. If you do not think your membership is linked correctly, please call the zoo at 330-375-2550.
Why do I need to select a time to visit?
The Akron Zoo is operating on a timed ticketing system due to the COVID-19 pandemic and in compliance with all state and local guidelines. Timed ticketing is in place to reduce the crowds when entering the park. The time you select is the time period you have to enter the zoo. There is no time limit on how long you can stay in the zoo once you enter.
I do not see the date and/or time that I want to visit.
If your date and/or time does not appear, that means there are no longer tickets available for that time frame. The system will automatically default to the next available date and time with tickets available. The Akron Zoo is running at 30% capacity due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
I have a membership gift certificate, but I want to visit the zoo. How do I get my tickets?
Please call the zoo at least 24 hours before you wish to visit to put your tickets on hold. Bring your membership gift certificate with you to activate your membership at the ticket counter.
I am a member at an AZA reciprocal zoo. How do I get my discount?
Currently, the AZA reciprocal program is temporarily on hold due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
I have an Ohio EBT card. How do I get the Museums for All discount?
Anyone who qualifies for the Museums for All discount must call the Akron Zoo at 330-375-2550 to reserve tickets. Tickets must be reserved at least 24 hours in advance. Tickets will be on hold at the ticket counter. Guests must bring their Ohio EBT card and valid photo ID when they check-in.
How can I redeem my complimentary tickets?
Complimentary tickets can be redeemed by calling the zoo at 330-375-2550 to reserve your date and time. You must call to reserve tickets at least 24 hours before your planned visit.
I have complimentary tickets that expired in 2020. Can I still use them?
Yes, we are honoring all complimentary tickets from 2020 and the tickets would be valid through the expiration date in 2021. For example, if your expiration date on the tickets was June 30, 2020, those tickets would be valid through June 30, 2021.

If you are still having trouble with your tickets, please contact the zoo at 330-375-2550. If someone does not pick-up the phone, leave a voicemail and someone will call you back as soon as possible. Please be aware that the Akron Zoo does not have a call center and that staff are often working on-grounds in the zoo.
