Tyrannosaurus Rex means "King of the Tyrant Lizards," and they were possibly the most massive carnivore to walk the Earth.
Their hollow bones and muscular back legs allowed them to run about 10-20 miles per hour for short bursts of speed. Their large, forward-facing eyes gave them excellent vision. Brain scans show they they also likely had an excellent sense of smell. These features combined to make them the apex predator of their ecosystem.
T-Rex's greatest predatory advantage was their jaws. They had 60 serrated teeth that could grow up to a foot long, ideal for crushing and tearing into prey. Their bite was so strong they could have torn the roof off of a car!
