Agilisaurus means "agile lizard." Its rear limbs were long and slender, allowing it to run quickly through its habitat and evade predators. Its front limbs were shorter, and were likely used to hold vegetation and run on all fours. Its long tail helped it to balance and move swiftly.
Another unique feature of the Agilisaurus was the enamel on their teeth. The wavy pattern made their teeth resistant to wear. This small herbivore grazed on vegetation, while serving as a food source for small to mid-sized carnivores.
