About Acrocanthosaurus
Their name means "high-spined" lizard in Latin. They were generally 26 - 48 ft. in length which is about the size of the Hollywood sign and they weighed close to 5,000lbs.
Acrocanthosaurus generally inhabited swampy floodplains during the Early Cretaceous period. Brain scans show they had a great sense of smell and their bite force was between 8,266 and 16,894 newtons or 8x stronger than a black bear's bite.
