Prehensile-tailed porcupines are smaller than North American porcupines. They have a long, muscular prehensile tail that makes up nearly half of their length. Their feet have long, clawed toes adapted to climbing trees. They have poor eyesight, but excellent senses of smell, touch and hearing.
