Celebrate International Gibbon Day by recycling your old laptops and tablets! Bring them to the Akron Zoo on Friday, October 24 from 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. for Gadgets for Gibbons! E-Scrap Solutions will be set up outside the Welcome Center collecting old electronics and responsibly recycling them (all hard drives will be shredded). A portion of all electronics recycled on this day will be donated to SAFE: Gibbon! Plus, there will be special keeper talks and animal enrichment. 

Indonesia is the world's 2nd largest producer and exporter of Lithium and Cobalt which are both used in almost all tech-products. Gadgets for Gibbons works to retain these precious resources instead of allowing them to end up in landfills. 

Purchase gibbon-themed gear on the Akron Zoo Online Store  during the month of October and 100% of the proceeds go to SAFE: Gibbon!
