At approximately 10:50 a.m. today, the Akron Zoo received a bomb threat. This is consistent with other zoos receiving similar threats in past days. The zoo has implemented emergency management procedures and the zoo has been evacuated. Akron Police and Fire are on scene and assessing the situation.
The safety of all zoo employees, visitors and animals is top priority. The Akron Zoo is closed for the remainder of the day. Any updates will be shared.
