Age-Friendly Friday

May 26

Join us as we celebrate the recognition of your Akron Zoo's Age-Friendly Seal of Approval! In order to receive the Age-Friendly Seal of Approval by the Better Business Bureau of Akron, an organization must meet certain standards that makes their business accessible for all ages.

The Akron Zoo is proud to be Summit County's very first Age-Friendly certified organization, and the state of Ohio's very first zoo to receive the honor!

All day, May 26, guests 62 years old and older will be able to purchase a Senior Citizen discount ticket for $12 and receive a second general admission ticket for FREE. There will also be giveaways including snacks for seniors (while supplies last), and a chance to win one of five family memberships.

The Age-Friendly Seal of Approval pilot program is a multi-sector collaboration by the Akron-Summit Age-Friendly Task Force, spearheaded by County Executive Ilene Shapiro, Mayor Dan Horrigan and Direction Home Akron Canton Area Agency on Aging & Disablities.

Tickets can be purchased at the Ticket Counter
