About Wild Prairie
Grasslands Café in Wild Prairie was built with reclaimed materials and barn siding from a barn in Medina County that was slated to be torn down. Reuse of these materials saved them from being added to a landfill.
Originally when the area opened it included black-tailed prairie dogs and thick-billed parrots. Today, it is home to snowy owls.
In 2015, a Monarch Waystation was built in Wild Prairie. The waystation provides a much needed feeding station for migrating monarch butterflies.
