Boo at the Zoo

Dress your little ghosts and goblins in their costumes for everyone's favorite non-scary Halloween event, Boo at the Zoo, presented by Acme Fresh Market. Bring your own bag or bucket to collect treats from 12 themed treat stations located throughout the zoo.

Doors will open early at 10:30 a.m. for early bird ticket holders only.

Early Bird Tickets (Tickets purchased by Oct. 11)

  • Treaters: $13
  • Akron Zoo member observers: Free
  • Non-member observers: $10
  • Non-member parking/shuttle fee: $3 per vehicle

General Admission Tickets (Tickets purchased after Oct. 11)

  • Treaters: $15
  • Akron Zoo member observers: $2
  • Non-member observers: $12
  • Non-member parking/shuttle fee: $3 per vehicle 

All guests must have a ticket to enter, including free MEMBER observers. Tickets are available online and at the Akron Zoo box office. Tickets are not available at Acme Fresh Market stores this year.

Akron Zoo member and early bird discounts will appear once tickets have been been added to your cart.  Please make sure to log in and then continue to check-out to view your discount.

We do have a new online system and all guests, including Akron Zoo members, will need to create a new account if you have not done so already after March 1. 

Ticket Definitions

  • Trick-or-treater: Anyone who wishes to collect treats from each treat stations, regardless of age.
  • Observer: Anyone, including members, visiting the zoo who does not wish to trick-or-treat.
  • Infant: Children under two who will NOT be trick-or-treating. Infants do require a ticket.  

Adults may come in costume, however, adults are prohibited from covering their face with masks, face paint or other face coverings.

Zoothing Boo at the Zoo

9:30 - 10:30 a.m.

We'll be opening an hour early for people with special needs who don’t like crowds or loud noises to trick-or-treat. Event tickets are required. Tickets are separate from Boo at the Zoo general admission tickets. Limited number of tickets available.
